Exclusive Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden Tour – A Special Experience for TFEPS Members

Join Chief Explorer Chad Husby and Conservatory Manager Kristin Cadavieco for an exclusive guided tour of Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, available only to TFEPS members. This immersive experience will take you through some of Fairchild’s most breathtaking tropical exhibits, showcasing the beauty and diversity of rare and exotic plant species.

Our journey begins with a visit to Fairchild’s remarkable Sansevieria collection, recently featured in The New York Times. From there, we’ll step into the Richard H. Simons Rainforest home of Fairchild’s National Orchid Garden and the only tropical rainforest exhibit in the continental United States. Here, you’ll discover the fascinating adaptations of tropical plants and experience the unique ecosystem they thrive in.

Next, we’ll explore the Wings of the Tropics exhibit in the Clinton Family Conservatory, where hundreds of butterflies create a dazzling display of color and movement. Watch for exotic species such as Heliconius, morphos, and owl butterflies from Central and South America. With over 40 species continually rotating, this living exhibit offers an ever-changing, immersive experience surrounded by vibrant flowering plants and orchids.

Our tour concludes in the Tropical Plant Conservatory and Rare Plant House, home to some of the most delicate and extraordinary plant species in the world. This final stop offers a deeper look at Fairchild’s commitment to plant conservation and a rare opportunity to see some of the most coveted specimens in botany.

Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind experience designed to inspire, educate, and connect you with the wonders of the tropical world!

We will meet at the main entrance.
